What is the goal of Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY )?
Prime Minister Narender Modi has announced the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya’ scheme (Ayushman Bharat Yojana i.e. ABY).
It has been implemented nationwide on 25th September on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
The government wanted to provide health insurance to the families and urban poor, neglected families, and urban poor people through ABY.
According to the Socio-Economic Caste Census ( SECC) 2011, 8.03 crore families in urban areas will come under the purview of Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY).
In this way, 50 crore people will come under the purview of PM_JAY. Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY), every family is getting medical insurance of five lakh rupees annually.
The National Health Insurance Scheme(NHBY) launched by the UPA government in the year 2008 also been merged with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana(PM-JAY).

Who is getting coverage in ABY?
The efforts of the Modi government is to include women, children, and senior citizen in ABY exclusively.
There is no binding of family size and age to join Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY).
Cashless/Paperless treatment will be available to the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY) in government hospitals and empaneled hospitals.
According to SECC data, people are getting medical insurance in Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY).

Beggars, garbage pickers, household chores, street vendors, cobblers, hawkers, other street workers, construction sites workers, plumbers, masons, laborers, painters, welders, security guards, porter, and other loaders, Sweepers, shopkeepers, rickshaw drivers, etc, will be included in Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY).
What is included in ABY?
The Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY) covers the cost of medical and hospital admission for almost every disease.
The Ministry of Health included 1354 package in Ayushman Bharat Yojana(ABY).
This includes treatments such as coronary bypass, knee replacement, and stunt insertion. The cost of treatment in Ayushman Bharat Yojana is 150-20%
Less than the Central Government Health Scheme(CGHS).

The Golden Card of Ayushman Bharat can be obtained from Jan Seva Kendra and Dm’s Office.
You can download the card only from where you have created it. The official or agent who created the golden card can download it and give it to you.

- Step 2 – Log in on the site
- Step 3 – Enter your mobile number on the home page.
- Step 4 – Verify the Captcha in the empty box.
- Step 5 – Now verify the OTP by clicking on Generate OTP.
- Complete the details to get the benefits.
- Once your name is registered on PM-JAY, you do not need to enroll anywhere to claim the benefits.
- Just get yourself identified at the nearest impaneled hospital or Community Service center (CSC).
